Part 1 - Ordering ISDN
| I called BellSouth in the evening, around 8:00 PM. I was only on hold about 5
minutes. (Very good for BellSouth) The installation fee was about $50, with the
monthly fee $32.55. Since my Internet access is a job perk and I save $20 a
month, this is extremely reasonable for me. They asked some standard questions: |
- Will you be using a router or a modem?
- What kind of router or modem will you be using?
- What kind of operating system(s) will you be using this with?
- Will you be accessing the Internet?
- Do you need an Internet service provider?

The operator gave me a Customer ID number and an installation date. The
installation date was 25 days away. So I had plenty of time to get ready.
They told me they would run the line into the house for an additional $126
dollars. I'll do that when I'm rich, but for now I'll do it myself. Plus I get
an excuse to do this website.
