Part 1 - Ordering ISDN

I called BellSouth in the evening, around 8:00 PM. I was only on hold about 5 minutes. (Very good for BellSouth) The installation fee was about $50, with the monthly fee $32.55. Since my Internet access is a job perk and I save $20 a month, this is extremely reasonable for me. They asked some standard questions:
  1. Will you be using a router or a modem?
  2. What kind of router or modem will you be using?
  3. What kind of operating system(s) will you be using this with?
  4. Will you be accessing the Internet?
  5. Do you need an Internet service provider?

The operator gave me a Customer ID number and an installation date. The installation date was 25 days away. So I had plenty of time to get ready.

They told me they would run the line into the house for an additional $126 dollars. I'll do that when I'm rich, but for now I'll do it myself. Plus I get an excuse to do this website.
